Introduction to Dry Quenching Equipment

Dry quenching, also known as CDQ (Coke Dry Quenching), refers to the dry quenching of red coke produced in a coke oven using inert circulating gas and the recovery of sensible heat. The inert circulating gas carries the recovered heat to the waste heat boiler for heat exchange with water to produce steam. The steam is then sent to the turbine, which drives the generator to generate electricity. After exchanging heat with water, the high-temperature circulating gas becomes a low-temperature circulating gas. The low-temperature circulating gas then enters the dry quenching furnace to exchange heat with the red coke. Through continuous heat exchange, the coke is generally cooled to below 200 ℃.

The dry quenching system has four major process flows: coke process flow, circulating gas process flow, boiler steam and water process flow, and dust removal process flow.

Dry quenching technology is a major national energy-saving and environmental protection technology project. Compared to wet quenching, it has the advantages of environmental protection, energy conservation, and water resource conservation. At the same time, it is of great significance for improving coke quality and reducing blast furnace coke ratio.
