Metallurgical coke ash composition
The main components of metallurgical coke ash are acidic oxides such as SiO2 and AL2O2. When coke is heated to a temperature higher than the coking temperature in the blast furnace, due to the different thermal expansion properties of coke and ash, cracks are generated and expanded around the ash particles, causing the coke to break and pulverize, and the strength is reduced. The alkali metal oxides in the coke ash have a positive catalytic effect on the reactivity of coke, so reducing the coke ash is beneficial to improving the thermal strength of coke.
