Graphite petroleum coke has three major impacts on smelting
Graphite petroleum coke has three major impacts on smelting:
1. Carbon increasing technology for molten iron can increase graphite nuclei in the smelting process, especially in electric furnaces. Participating in silicon carbide smelting in a cupola can also increase the nucleation of feldspar graphite crystals in molten iron and reduce its oxidation;
2. Carbonization is a measure to avoid or reduce the tendency for shrinkage. Due to the graphitization and shrinkage during the solidification process of molten iron, good graphitization will reduce the tendency of molten iron to shrink;
Under high carbon content conditions, in order to obtain high-strength gray cast iron castings, the smelting process uses scrap steel and carburizing agents to make the molten iron more pure and produce castings with high material properties. Clean cleaning materials should be used during smelting to prevent leakage or excessive dross.
